5-star basketball prospect Emmitt Williams has yet to choose where he’ll enroll in college, but he’ll have to think about that inside a jail for the meantime after being arrested Wednesday on charges of felony sexual battery and false imprisonment. This is according to multiple reports, including one by Gary Parrish of CBS Sports.
Plenty of schools have lined up at the doorstep of Williams, who is ranked 20th overall by ESPN for the class of 2018 and seventh overall among all power forwards.
The 6-foot-8 Williams, however, is in danger of losing interest from the likes of Florida, Florida State, Kansas, and Louisville, all of which have made an offer to the Florida native.
Article Continues BelowWilliams troubles stemmed from an incident early last October when he allegedly held a female friend against her will before sexually molesting and raping her.
Via Parrish:
The alleged incident, according to an arrest warrant, happened Oct. 10 at the home of one of Williams' female friends. At some point in the night, Williams' accuser told police she informed Williams she wanted to leave her home to go pick up another friend. But, she said, Williams would not let her leave. She said Williams eventually began touching her even though she told him she wanted nothing sexual to happen. But, she said, Williams ignored her, pulled down her pants and raped her while her attempts to stop him were unsuccessful.
Williams is supposed to make a visit to Florida’s campus this weekend. With this news, though, he’s the one in need of visitation.
