For the first time since 2017, the South Carolina Gamecocks are national champions after beating UConn on Sunday night in convincing fashion. In the process, head coach Dawn Staley made history on numerous levels and Deion Sanders couldn't help but let her know how proud he is of the legendary women's coach.

Some awesome words from Sanders for the South Carolina boss, who became the first African American to win multiple national championships in the NCAA in both Women's and Men's. The Gamecocks are also now just the eighth program in the nation to win multiple titles. And to top it all off, they're the first team to UConn, an absolute powerhouse, in the title game.

Staley's group was dominant on Sunday night, winning 64-49. Senior guard Destanni Henderson went off in her final college game for South Carolina, dropping 26 points and dishing out four assists. Aliyah Boston, who was a beast throughout the entire tournament, finished with a double-double of 11 points and 16 rebounds. Boston earned the Final Four's Most Outstanding Player honors.

Staley is opening doors for other coaches with her brilliance and it's great to see Sanders acknowledge just that. She's built a powerhouse at South Carolina and continues to defy the odds every season.
