March Madness extends in the early days of April, and it certainly couldn't get any better. Dawn Staley and her South Carolina Gamecocks took down the pesky Connecticut Huskies on Sunday to bring home the NCAA Women's title, impressing the basketball world including NBA stars like Dwyane Wade, Trae Young and Ja Morant.

The Gamecocks used a strong 22-8 first quarter to get the team going early, and they controlled the whole game after that. Aliyah Boston and Destanni Henderson led the way for South Carolina to cap off the epic March Madness run, with the former finishing with a monster double-double of 11 points and 16 rebounds. Meanwhile, Henderson exploded for a game-high 26 points as they ran away with the victory.

Henderson got the attention of Ja Morant during the game, with the Memphis Grizzlies star tweeting his amazement to how the young guard was playing against UConn.

Meanwhile, both Dwyane Wade and Trae Young shared their excitement for Dawn Staley and her win. She became the first Black head coach in men's and women's Division 1 history to win multiple championships, and both Wade and Young made sure she gets the credit and acknowledgement she deserves for the incredible feat.

It is definitely a fitting end for what has been an incredible season for South Carolina and Staley. They entered the tournament as the no. 1 seed, and they showed everyone the reason for that with a dominant March Madness stint that saw them play Howard, Miami, UNC, Creighton and Louisville before they took on Connecticut.

“We played every possession like it was our last possession,” said Staley of their mentality in the contest, per Associated Press via Huffpost. “They were determined to be champions today.”

Meanwhile, Aliyah Boston got emotional after the win as she reflected on last year's journey when they lost to Stanford in the Final Four. Now, they are champions.

“Honestly, I’ve been thinking about this since last season. Everyone had a picture of me crying,” said Boston, who was hailed as the the Most Outstanding Player of the Final Four. “Today, we’re national champions and I’m in tears.”
