The UCLA Bruins will not, apparently, be hurt by any of the FBI's probing of college basketball. While that is not yet shocking, since the Bruins weren't named in the FBI's reports (or even hinted at), it still has to feel good to be a UCLA fan and see good recruits commit to the program.
Speaking of that, 2018 4-star shooting guard Jules Bernard has announced that he has committed to play for the UCLA Bruins when he begins his collegiate career. This is a big get, as it the second 2018 commitment UCLA has received, with Jules Bernard joining fellow 4-star guard David Singleton III in Steve Alford’s 2018 class.
Due to rules that probably have to deal with it being the social media age, Bernard released a statement:
“This has been a humbling and amazing journey over the last few years,” Bernard said in the release. “I’ve been fortunate to have met some special people who have taught me, mentored me, molded me, and guided me. I would like to thank all the college coaches and schools that believed in me, recruited me, and those who put time and effort into getting to know me and my family. I am excited and honored to continue my education and growth as a basketball player in my hometown at UCLA.”
UCLA has three returnees on the perimeter from last season’s Sweet 16 team. Junior Aaron Holiday, redshirt sophomores Prince Al and Alex Oleshinski, are all back on the squad.
The Bruins are, obviously, in a good place.
