The Michigan Wolverines are under the NCAA's microscope amid allegations of sign-stealing. For Nebraska football head coach Matt Rhule, the NCAA needs to make just one change to prevent teams from wanting to go that tricky extra mile in order to get a leg up over an opponent.

“Sign stealing happens every game. There’s nothing wrong with teams looking over to try to steal our signs, there’s nothing wrong with us trying to look at their signs. It’s why you should have mics in the helmet. All these guys that vote against it every year is because they don’t want to teach their quarterback,” the Nebraska football sideline boss said during Monday's press conference.

Matt Rhule, who is in his first year of coaching Nebraska football, is befuddled over why college football has yet to follow in the footsteps of the NFL and even high school football in terms of putting mics in quarterback's helmets.

“There should be 100% (mics). You can get rid of all the stupid signs on the sideline and the pictures of rock stars and all that stuff and we can just play football the way it was meant to be. You go to a high school game, there’s technology on the sideline. You go to an NFL game, there’s technology on the sideline. You got to a college game, nothing,” Rhule added.

Rhule is an interesting figure to have his thoughts asked about Michigan's alleged illegal tactics, particularly since it was not that long ago when the Cornhuskers suffered a 45-7 defeat at the hands of the Wolverines.

Nebraska football is 4-3 overall so far in the 2023 season and will next face the Purdue Boilermakers at home on Oct. 28.
