After months of waiting, it's finally happening. Ben Simmons' return to action for the Brooklyn Nets is likely to happen soon, which many fans are excited to see. The potential of this lineup has been teased multiple times, but we haven't seen anything out of this team in terms of on-court production.

During an interview for the Nets, Simmons talked a bit about his impeding return. Simmons keyed in on the fact that he fits well with the current players on the team. He cited his “high IQ” as one of the reasons why he can help this team succed. (via SNYNets)

“My IQ is so high, to play with guys like Kai [Kyrie Irving], Seth [Curry], Kev [Durant]… I know how they want to play.”

Simmons' basketball IQ has never been in doubt… for the most part. The former Philadelphia 76ers star is one of the most talented playmakers in the league. His ability to create plays for his teammates, especially in transition, makes him a valuable commodity for most teams. His All-Defense capabilities only add to his insane toolkit, one that the Nets will happily utilize.

However, Simmons has always had one major issue: his reluctance to shoot. The Nets star's outright refusal to take shots from outside the paint severely limited his potential on the court. That was compounded with a seemingly lack of self-confidence, one that was exposed in their 2021 playoff run.

Simmons is looking to turn his image around here in his first run with the Nets. Can he be the missing link that turns their series against the Celtics around?
