Everyone and their mother wants to know if the Brooklyn Nets are going to trade for Houston Rockets superstar shooting guard James Harden, who has reportedly requested a trade from Clutch City and wants to play for the Nets.

Nets general manager Sean Marks, who did his best to avoid any tampering comments, indirectly responded to the Harden trade rumors on Thursday during his media session with Nets reporters.

“There’s never a dull moment, and I think when maybe you’re the part of some rumors out there and so forth, you take heed and just look how far the Nets organization has come,” Marks said, via SNY. “We’re obviously excited to get the team that we have, to be honest, out on the floor, and I think not only with Kevin and Ky and Caris (LeVert) and Jarrett Allen, you work your way through the roster.

“For those guys having the opportunity to get out there and, as you said, wear the black and white, that’s the most important thing. It’s a crazy business that we live in and things are thrown your way all the time, and you have to pivot and be flexible and maintain that throughout the season.”

Multiple reports have stated that James Harden, the 2018 MVP, wants to play on the Nets so he can reunite with Kevin Durant. Harden and Durant were teammates on the Oklahoma City Thunder.

For the Nets to acquire Harden, most pundits believe Marks would have to send Houston Caris LeVert, Jarrett Allen, Spencer Dinwiddie, Taurean Prince and multiple draft picks.

It's going to be fascinating to see if the Nets are able to pull off the blockbuster trade for Harden, who averaged 34.3 points per game in 2019-20.
