The NBA world got a glimpse at Caris LeVert on Thursday during the Brooklyn Nets' valiant effort against the Portland Trail Blazers on Thursday. While the Blazers clinched the No. 8 seed with a 134-133 win, LeVert was amazing and just missed a game-winning attempt at the end that would have ended Portland's season.

Fans got treated to a fantastic 37-point performance from LeVert, as the fourth-year guard scored 37 points on 16-of-29 from the floor while also ensnaring six rebounds and dishing out nine assists on the night:

The Michigan State product went toe-to-toe against Bubble MVP candidate Damian Lillard, even garnering his praise after the game:

“Caris LeVert is cold,” Lillard said during a postgame interview.

The reactions from notable faces soon poured through social media:

Some others believe having a player like LeVert is a luxury for the Nets, who will likely get a healthy Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving next season:

Even his own teammate, Spencer Dinwiddie, was happy to see his boy shine:

LeVert has been doing work during the restart, but this is the first time he really got national eyes on him as the Blazers-Nets game was featured on TNT.

The soon-to-be 26-year-old has put up 20 or more points on 19 occasions this season. He has four 30-point games and had a career-high 51-point explosion a week before the season came to a halt due to the pandemic.

LeVert is undoubtedly a special talent, and it's about time he got his due recognition. Whoever is in charge of the Nets next season will be best served finding a way to implement his talent into a loaded starting unit. Brooklyn has been rumored to be seeking a third star, but he might actually be on the roster already.
