Free agent forward/center Jared Sullinger has been “exploring the opportunity” of signing with the Brooklyn Nets, his agent David Falk told Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News.

“I'm a big fan of the coach (Kenny Atkinson),” Falk said. “He's a great motivator, and they have a great facility.

“(Sullinger) is a talented big man and we're looking into an opportunity”

Sullinger signed a one-year, $6 million deal with the Toronto Raptors last offseason, but was kept out of action after undergoing foot surgery, notching only one start in 11 games with the team. He was consequently traded to the Phoenix Suns, who waived him prior to the deadline.

The Ohio State product was last season playing for Scarlet & Gray, a team comprised of OSU alumni, competing for the $2 million prize at the now-popular The Basketball Tournament, which aired on ESPN this summer.

Sullinger has struggled with weight and conditioning issues during his short NBA career, measured at 6-foot-9 and 260 pounds at the start of last season.

The 25-year-old looked in much better shape next to D'Angelo Russell in an Instagram photo, working out at the team's facilities, hopeful of an NBA return after his injury woes have found other teams uninterested in his services.
