Joe Harris of the Brooklyn Nets believes that the Internet went overboard on his ankle breaker over Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks. Speaking on SiriusXM NBA Radio, the Nets forward — who won this year's 3-point challenge — broke down what happened in the play.

He admitted that Doncic might have just lost his balance on the play. The 27-year-old shared that he didn't even unleash a spate of moves and doesn't want all the credit for the supposed ankle-breaker.

“I think it's been exaggerated a little bit, to be honest. He lost his footing. He was closing out hard to me, and I didn't really do a ton, to be honest. It was more just kind of, unfortunate sort of balance for him.”

Check out the clip again below. Do you agree with his explanation? Can it be tagged as a legitimate ankle breaker? Or Doncic was doomed to fall down after closing hard?

Either way, it was nice of Harris to not to grab all the glory. The five-year pro probably knows that Doncic — being the great player that he is — has a tendency to attract all sorts of attention, be it a highlight or a lowlight. He definitely has a ton of class.
