Kevin Durant breaks Nets record on James Harden’s debut
Just 14 games into the season, Durant has already broken a Nets franchise record by tallying the most consecutive games with 25 or more points.
With a 42-point performance against the Magic, Durant has now notched 25 or more points in nine straight games. The record was formerly held by Nets legend Bernard King.
Kevin Durant has been fantastic this season in Brooklyn so this should not come as a surprise to anyone. KD is averaging 29.4 points, which is second in the NBA behind Bradley Beal. With Kyrie out, Durant has stepped up as the team’s top scorer.
Durant is shooting an astounding 53% from the field and an even more impressive 46% from long distance.
The Slim Reaper is taking the NBA by storm, doing so by being virtually unstoppable on the offensive side of the ball.
Achieving this feat on the night James Harden debuted in Brooklyn shows even with another superstar on the team, Durant can take over games.
Harden recorded a triple-double with 14 assists in this game and seems to be meshing really well with his new teammates already. The Beard taking the role as the primary facilitator could be exactly what Brooklyn needs in order to get the most out of their superstars.
Time will tell, but for now, just appreciate the greatness of Kevin Durant.
