Brooklyn Nets superstar Kevin Durant is off to yet another terrific start in the 2021/22 season, leading his team to a 5-3 record. While it hasn't been easy adjusting without Kyrie Irving, KD is definitely putting up the numbers that will be needed to make a Finals run in 2022.

Following a 29-point performance on Friday night in a win over the Detroit Pistons, Durant made Nets history, posting 20 or more points in the first nine contests:

Frankly, the Nets have never had a superstar of KD's stature before. I mean, there have been some very good players who've suited up for the franchise, but Durant is on another level.

28.3 points per night is just second in the Association behind Paul George, who has been showing out for the Clippers. Durant is shooting the lights out as well, draining 59% of his field goals and 37% of his three-point attempts. The Nets veteran is evidently the main man for Brooklyn right now, especially with James Harden struggling early on.

On Friday, Durant also grabbed 10 rebounds and dished out five assists. Harden meanwhile collected only 13 points, but he also had 10 boards and 10 dimes in the victory.

KD won't care less about a franchise record like this, but it definitely shows just how special he really is.
