Brooklyn Nets superstar Kevin Durant has been out of action for over a month due to a hamstring injury. Nets head coach Steve Nash gave an update on the two-time NBA champ's status and revealed that Durant is on the “critical” portion of his rehab.
In fact, Nash admitted that Durant could actually return to the court soon if the playoffs were happening right now. Still, the Nets are in no hurry to bring the four-time scoring champion back at this stage of the season.

Hamstring issues can be very tricky because these kinds of injuries can linger if not treated properly. Moreover, Durant just returned this season from a devastating torn Achilles injury he suffered during the 2019 NBA Finals. Thus, it's easy to see why the Nets are exercising extreme caution and patience with Durant's recovery process.
It would be a bummer for the Nets if KD suffers some kind of setback as a result of ramping up his rehab. Brooklyn would ideally want Durant at full-strength come playoff time.
In the meantime, the Nets will ride the James Harden and Kyrie Irving train for the time being until their superstar forward is healthy enough to return to the floor. With such a deep lineup, Brooklyn can afford to keep Durant on the sidelines.
Kyrie Irving even sat out their most recent contest against the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday. James Harden’s stats continue to be impressive, as he put up 25 points and 17 assists in a 116-112 victory to move to 30-14 on the season.
