Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant had some more poignant comments regarding the New York Knicks organization.

Appearing on the Joe Budden Podcast, Durant said he was bothered by Knicks fans and the media incessantly asking him about his plans in free agency during the 2018-19 season.

“What you mean? They bothered me for a whole year! I was just trying to chill and just play and worry about my season,” the Nets forward said when asked why he feels the need to continuously talk about the ‘Bockers up until today, via SB Nation.

“All the Knick fans, those Knicks media. They bothered me the whole year. But when it’s my time to talk about it, I gotta shut up now?? I’ve been wanting to ask these questions for a year. Now that I’m available, it’s a problem?”

Plenty of NBA pundits speculated where Kevin Durant would land last summer, with the Knicks mentioned as a potential destination.

New York entered last summer with two max salary slots after trading Kristaps Porzingis to the Dallas Mavericks, and they also had a top pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. It seemed they had a chance to ink a pair of stars while also adding a young, talented player though the draft.

But Durant instead opted to join Kyrie Irving in signing with the “other” New York team in Brooklyn, and it is the Nets who will dream big for the future.

The Nets managed to sneak into the 2020 NBA playoffs despite bringing a makeshift roster to Orlando, but the focus has already turned to next season.

Brooklyn will get a healthy Durant and Irving back in the rotation, and Nets fans will hope their superstar duo (along with a smart coach in Nash) can help their championship dreams come to fruition.
