When Kevin Durant asked for a trade from the Brooklyn Nets before the 2022 NBA Free Agency opened, it sparked a lot of questions. After all everyone thought that drama was over following Kyrie Irving's decision to pick up his option with the team for 2022-23.

Now, according to former NBA player Matt Barnes, he believes Durant is just too tired of all the drama surrounding the Nets and his close pal Irving. KD wants to win, and Barnes believes the superstar forward no longer sees that in Brooklyn.

“You sit back and you see Kyrie's gonna be gone or he's thinking about leaving, he signs, and then KD wants to leave. That leads me to believe that KD is just fed up with all the BS and wants to go to an opportunity where they just really wanna care and win basketball games,” Barnes said, via SiriusXM NBA.

While Matt Barnes admitted he has no knowledge of Kevin Durant's thinking, his explanation on why the former MVP wants to leave makes sense. There's just too much issue going on with the franchise, and a lot of it is not even related to playing actual basketball.

The fact that the Nets have failed to find significant success over the past couple of years that they had KD and Kyrie also speaks volumes of the problem that the organization is dealing with.

Of course it remains to be seen what will happen to Durant amid his trade request. However, if he's really “fed up” with the team, one has to question whether the Nets can convince him to play if ever they fail to find a trade they want.
