NBA Commissioner Adam Silver admits trade requests like what Kevin Durant did with the Brooklyn Nets isn't ideal for the league. With that said, he is hoping they can do something to address it in the future.

Speaking during the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, Silver shared his thoughts about the Durant trade talks and the overall impact of the issue to the league. Simply put, while unavoidable, it's something they don't want to see even if it's KD or any other player.

“There's always conversations behind closed doors between the players and the representatives of the teams. But we don't like to see players requesting trades and we don't like to see it playing out the way it is,” Silver said, per Brian Lewis of the New York Post.

“Its one of those issues that as we move into this collective bargaining cycle — we intend to discuss with our players association and see if there are remedies for this.”

For what it's worth, Adam Silver also made it a point to emphasize that Kevin Durant requested a trade, not demanded. With that said, the NBA commissioner shared that he hasn't seen any report or heard anything that would lead him to believe that KD won't fulfill his contract with Brooklyn if they fail to move him.

There have been reports about the likelihood of a Durant trade dragging until training camp, especially given the massive price the Nets are asking. Due to that, there are questions whether or not Durant would sit out the season until he's traded.

It remains to be seen what will happen to Durant, but it's clear Silver is keeping a close eye on it.
