A day after Shams Charania of The Athletic reported that there is a ā€œrenewed optimismā€ that Kyrie Irving will soon return to action, the Brooklyn Nets point guard added to the growing excitement by posting a cryptic video that may or may not have something to do with his comeback soon.

Irving has yet to play a single game this season, as he remains adamant about not getting the COVID-19 vaccine that is mandated in New York City. Even if one assumes that Irving and Nets management revive the idea of him playing only in road games, that would still mean that he will not be able to play against the New York Knicks and Toronto Raptors.

It's also possible that the video posted by Irving was merely a way for him to endorse a product.

In any case, the Nets surely would be a better team if Irving is around. Brooklyn is still the top team in the Eastern Conference with a 19-8 record, as Kevin Durant and James Harden continue to lead the franchise.

It remains to be seen how the Irving situation will conclude. He can be a free agent as early as 2022 if he declines to pick up his player option for 2022-23 that is worth $36,5 million.
