The love story between Brooklyn Nets point guard Kyrie Irving and fans of the Boston Celtics took a hilarious and bird-infested turn on Easter Sunday, which featured a 115-114 last-second home victory for the Celtics. During and after the game, Irving and Celtics fans could be seen exchanging pleasantries.

This one even had a little bit of NSFW audio to accompany the interaction.

Needless to say, the relationship between Kyrie Irving and Celtics fans is at villainous levels.

Irving would finish tonight's loss with a game-high 39 points, and six assists while the Celtics limited fellow Nets superstar Kevin Durant to just 23 points on 24 shots. The Nets now find themselves down 0-1 with game two in Boston again on Wednesday night, in what can only be expected as another wildly hostile environment.

The rivalry between Irving and Celtics fans dates back to Irving's two seasons with the team from 2017 to 2019, where Celtics fans felt that Irving was not as committed to the organization as they had hoped for. This came to a head during the free agency period of 2019 when Irving would verbally commit to re-signing with the Celtics and instead later signed with the Brooklyn Nets. Claims of racism from the city of Boston by Irving added fuel to an already burning fire, and thus the rivalry was born.

While the tenure of Kyrie Irving in Boston was short, it corroborated the unusual career Irving has had to this point. His time in Cleveland also ended in a bizarre trade request, which led to him joining the Celtics in 2017.
