While the nation was busy watching March Madness, the NBA hosted a few games itself. One of those being a surprise loss for the Brooklyn Nets, as they couldn't get it together to defeat a struggling Orlando Magic team. Kyrie Irving led the game with 43 points, however, it seemed to be a waste, as the Magic won the game 121-113.

It seems Orland caught Brooklyn off guard in this matchup, as the Nets were on a six-game win streak. They likely overlooked the Magic, as Orlando currently resides 14th place in the Eastern Conference. Surprisingly, the Magic couldn't miss, and it caught Kyrie Irving's attention, per the New York Post.

“It just didn't matter [what we did],” Nets star Kyrie Irving said. “I was coming in shooting a layup, they were coming up getting free throws or a 3-pointer was going all net, or some type of play was happening where we're looking at each other like, we've just got to give them a slap on the butt and say good game.”

The loss set the Nets back half of a game behind the Philadelphia 76ers for first place in the Eastern Conference. It's a minor set back and the Nets have plenty of time to get back on track. However, it seems as though the Orlando Magic may have found a formula to beating the Nets. According to Kyrie Irving, the Magic played with much more energy.

“They came in off a back-to-back very desperate, and we didn’t match their energy, so [it] happens like that. This is what it feels like to lose. We don't want too many more feelings like this, so just learn from it and move forward.”

Bruce Brown didn't seem as enthralled with the Magic as Irving did, as Brown threw a little bit of shade towards Aaron Gordon, per Brian Lewis.

It's not likely the Magic put it all together and make the playoffs after this, but they could have laid out the blueprint on how to beat the Nets. Catch Brooklyn's next game against the Washington Wizards on Sunday night.
