Brooklyn Nets guard Kyrie Irving reportedly missed his media session for the upcoming 2021 All-Star Game, per Jared Greenberg. The reason for his absence wasn't revealed although the development is nothing new to the media anymore.

Back in the 2018-19 All-Star Game, Irving was targeted after a video emerged of him talking with Kevin Durant about their free agency plans at the time. He didn't appreciate the swirling rumors and suggested that it was made for ‘clicks' and was an invasion of his privacy.

Meanwhile, in the early stages of the 2020-21 season, Irving previously claimed that he won't be speaking to the media this season even if his contract with the Nets obligates him to do so. Ultimately, the league didn't hold back on his actions as both the 28-year-old playmaker and the Nets were hit with a $25,000 fine each.

He eventually took his thoughts to Instagram and hoped that the ‘fine money' went to charities instead. Moreover, Irving also labeled the media men as ‘pawns' who aren't worthy of receiving his attention.

The Duke product is set to make his seventh All-Star appearance this season and will suit up for Team Durant in the All-Star Game slated to be held in State Farm Arena in Atlanta. He successfully earned a starting nod in the exhibition match after averaging 27.4 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 6.0 assists through 26 appearances this season.

At the end of the day, everyone is still entitled to their own opinion but Kyrie Irving's stature as a marquee star doesn't easily exempt him from performing his obligations as a player of the league.
