The Brooklyn Nets' fairytale season came to its bitter end on Tuesday night as they fell to the Philadelphia 76ers, 122-100, in Game 5 of their first-round series matchup.

Following the blowout defeat, Nets team owner Mikhail Prokhorov opted to focus on the positive aspect of the team's overall performance throughout the season, sending out his appreciation towards the entire organization for a job well done:

The Nets' Game 5 blowout defeat does no justice to how well they performed all season long. It was an off night from the get-go, with Brooklyn getting outscored by the Sixers 32-15 in the first period alone.

Main man D'Angelo Russell struggled mightily in this one (eight points on 3-of-16 shooting), and so did reigning All-Star 3-Point Contest winner Joe Harris (nine points on 4-of-11 from the floor).

As for Prokhorov, his statement here proves that he is definitely a glass-half-full kind of guy, and it does go a long way in terms of lifting the spirits of the entire franchise. Who better to dismiss the disappointing end to an otherwise tremendous season than the man who signs the checks, right?

The Nets owner has also provided his team and its supporters with some much-needed motivation as it heads towards an early summer vacation. It is indeed going to be a busy summer for the team, and as Prokhorov said, there is a lot to look forward to with the future so bright for Brooklyn.
