The Brooklyn Nets' once promising start has become a distant memory as injuries have continued to pile up over the first few weeks of the season.

Third-year forward Rondae Hollis-Jefferson was the latest to suffer an injury as he sprained his right ankle during Sunday's contest against the Brooklyn Nets that forced him to miss the rest of the game.

If Hollis-Jefferson is lost for any extended period of time, it could put another damper on the Nets finding consistent production on their roster. He is currently having the best start of his career with 14.9 points on 49.4 percent shooting from the field with 5.8 rebounds in 17 games played.

With D'Angelo Russell out for at least the next several weeks, Rondae Hollis Jefferson had been expected to take up a larger offensive role for the Nets. In the first six games without Russell, he had scored in double figures four times including his third 20-point outing of the season.

This makes four out of the Nets' top five scorers being out due to injury in some capacity moving forward. Hollis-Jefferson could likely miss the next few games as he makes his full recovery from the ailment. In any case, veterans DeMare Carroll and Spencer Dinwiddie will assume more of the offensive load in their absence.
