Even though an NBA champion has yet to be crowned this year, rumors have already begun swirling on where next year's free agents will end up. One popular rumor is that Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Durant and Boston Celtics guard Kyrie Irving are on their way to the New York Knicks.

This could spell trouble for the Eastern Conference, and make the Knicks a contender after several down seasons. However, Brooklyn Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie is unconcerned with the possibility. He claims the Nets would still be better than the Knicks, even with the superstar acquisitions:

Knicks fans were quick to argue with Dinwiddie, and his tweet generated hundreds of responses. After taking some heat, Dinwiddie decided o fire back again:

It's nice to see a little trash talk between two teams in the same city. This will certainly add to the rivalry when the Nets and Knicks meet in the regular season.

Of course, this all hinges on the Knicks actually acquiring the two stars. Already, the teams hope of watching Zion Williamson playing 41 games in Madison Square Garden has been shot down. It might be a little less appealing of a landing spot now.

Regardless of how everything shakes out, Dinwiddie will be bringing something extra to the table when the Nets and Knicks face off. We can only hope to see a playoff series between the two.
