Former New jersey/Brooklyn Nets point guard Stephon Marbury had nothing but positive words to say about the Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving pairing.
In a recent interview with Heavy‘s Brandon Robinson on “Scoop B Radio,” the former Nets playmaker expressed his belief that the superstar duo will be pretty magical on the court.
This past offseason, the Nets signed Durant and Irving to four-year max contracts. However, they haven't had the opportunity to play together this 2019-20 season due to injuries. Durant suffered an Achilles injury during Game 5 of the 2019 NBA Finals, which has kept him out for the 2019-20 campaign.
Despite Irving and Durant missing games due to injuries, the Nets have still played well this season. Before play was suspended, Brooklyn was in the seventh seed in the Eastern Coference with a record of 30-34.
Needless to say, once Irving and Durant get back to full strength, the Nets will certainly emerge as title contenders.
As for Marbury, he's currently the head coach of the Beijing Royal Fighters of the Chinese Basketball Association.
