Currently at 10-4, the Brooklyn Nets have been relatively impressive to start the 2021-22 campaign. However, you can also argue that this powerhouse team has yet to live up to the lofty expectations many had on them before the start of the season.

What cannot be denied right now is that the absence of Kyrie Irving has had an adverse effect on the team in general. After all, this is one of the best point guards in the game right now. Nets coach Steve Nash recently opened up about his current relationship with the controversial star and apparently, they haven't been talking about business all that much:

“Kyrie, I stay in touch with Kyrie but we don't really talk about basketball just stay in touch and make sure everything is good with him,” Nash said.

It's great that Nash is still able to keep the communication lines open with Irving despite the fact that the Nets have barred him from joining the team because of his refusal to get vaccinated. As the Brooklyn coach stated, however, all their conversations have veered away from anything basketball-related and in all likelihood, from Kyrie's stance on the COVID-19 vaccine as well.

At this point, there appears to be no light at the end of the tunnel for Irving and the Nets. This problem does not sound like it's going to find a resolution anytime soon so for now, Brooklyn will need to carry on with their campaign sans their superstar point guard.
