The Brooklyn Nets have been linked to Carmelo Anthony over the past month. Ever since he participated in informal workouts with Nets players in Los Angeles several weeks ago, it has been speculated that he could join the team anytime soon, especially since Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving have reportedly been pushing the front office to sign the former All-Star.

Apparently, they're not the only ones who are ready to vouch for Melo, as Nets newcomer Taurean Prince is taking the subtle approach to encourage the franchise to finally give Anthony a chance:

Anthony hasn't been in the NBA since November of last year when he was shut down by the Houston Rockets. He was then traded to the Chicago Bulls earlier this year, but the team decided to waive him. Since then, he has been constantly working out to prepare for a return to the NBA this upcoming season, but it seems that teams are reluctant to sign the former scoring champion.

However, signing Melo is an idea the Nets might consider seriously. Not only is Kevin Durant expected to miss the entirety of next season, but Wilson Chandler won't be available on opening night as well because he has been suspended for 25 games due to violation of the NBA's drug policy. Moreover, Rodions Kurucs could also be suspended after being charged with domestic assault.

With Brooklyn looking a bit thin at forward at the moment, a Melo signing looks more and more possible.
