The ongoing EuroBasket competition is quickly turning out to be a must watch for all basketball fans. It has been filled so far with incredible performances, upsets, and surprise teams.

The Russian National Team is one of those surprise squads so far, as they remained unbeaten with a 76-67 win against Belgium on Monday. Brooklyn Nets center Timofey Mozgov once again had a solid outing for the Russians, as he scored 12 points, including a monster putback slam, while grabbing three rebounds as well. Aleksei Shved top-scored for them with a brilliant all-around game, finishing with 20 points, six rebounds, and six assists.

Mozgov and company are currently on top of Group D with a 3-0 win-loss slate and are geared to make it to the next round. Being the only undefeated team in their group, they have a big chance of securing the number one seed.

After being traded to the Nets early in the offseason, Timofey Mozgov will most likely be the team’s starter next season, and could receive the lion’s share of minutes at the center spot. Should that happen, he will have the opportunity to prove his critics wrong after receiving heat for underperforming last season despite owning a huge contract.
