Jrue Holiday may have a new look next season.

Reports are that Holiday will consider wearing goggles for the 2016-17 campaign as a precautionary measure.

After sustaining an inadvertent elbow from New York Knicks forward Kristaps Porzingis at the end of last season, Holiday was forced to miss the final nine games of the year with an orbital wall fracture.

Surgery in April left the New Orleans Pelicans point guard with a metal plate underneath his right eye.

Holiday says that he has recovered fully from the injury and is 100 percent, but that he may still consider wearing goggles next season.

Holiday is coming off a better year than most remember. He only played in 65 games and started just 23, but still averaged 16.8 points and 6.0 assists a night. His per-36 numbers were actually the best of his career.

The Pelicans disappointed last season, missing the playoffs after sneaking in the year before. If they can get healthy next year, the hope is they will make a strong push for the postseason and Holiday will have a lot to do with that.
