Oregon Ducks quarterback Justin Herbert will officially return to the team next season, despite being projected as a top 15 pick in the 2019 NFL draft.

The school announced Herbert's return on Wednesday, which likely came a surprise to some people considering how high his draft stock was at this point.

But, Herbert is clearly focused on trying to achieve more success at Oregon before he joins the professional ranks.

Herbert had an excellent regular season for the Ducks in throwing for 2,985 yards and 28 touchdowns while adding 173 yards and two scores on the ground.

He now immediately becomes one of the best prospects in the 2020 NFL draft, as he was projected as one of the most talented players in this year's draft.

With Herbert choosing to stay in college, that makes it all but official that Ohio State's Dwayne Haskins will be the quarterback selected in the offseason.

Haskins racked up 4,580 yards and a whopping 47 touchdowns through the air this season for the Buckeyes, and he contributed 122 yards and four touchdowns in the rushing game.

While quarterbacks can be projected anywhere, it's obvious that teams are willing to trade up if they feel like they're getting a quarterback of the future.

Haskins has a chance to be one of those players this year, and Herbert will likely bring those same types of qualities next season when he enters the draft.

So, even if these players wind up being projected outside the top 10, everyone knows that it may not take much for teams to pull off big trades to land their franchise quarterback.
