The 2021 NFL Draft is drawing near and the rumors keep flying off the shelf. Now, the New England Patriots are the latest of the rumored teams interested in trading up into the top 10 of the draft, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

You can never count out Bill Belichick and the Patriots. After all, they missed the playoffs in their first year post-Tom Brady and the offense was a disaster. The Patriots brought back Cam Newton and have been linked to quarterbacks like Mac Jones and Justin Fields as they continue to look for the successor to the great Tom Brady.

The Patriots aren't guaranteed to move up, but the fact that they have been calling shows the eagerness on their end as they clearly target somebody that won't last until pick no. 15. Could Justin Fields be the next gunslinger in Foxborough?

As the draft draws near, teams get more and more anxious, and with each pick, the draft board begins to shrink one by one.

The Patriots have been the center of rumors and free agency. They spent big on Matthew Judon, Hunter Henry, and Jonnu Smith while also signing Kendrick Bourne and Nelson Agholor in an attempt to provide the offense with more weapons especially after the retirement of Julian Edelman.

So, could New England end up taking a pick in the top 10 with a huge draft night trade? Never count out Robert Kraft and Belichick, who will do all they can to get back into the playoffs in the 2021 season.
