There are expected to be several intriguing players on the open market this offseason that could draw a sizeable amount of interest from around the league. New England Patriots running back Dion Lewis is anticipated to be among the vast amount of available talent.

The 27-year-old isn't expected to be brought back by the Patriots after spending the last three seasons with the team. According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, Lewis is expected to draw a significant amount of interest from several different franchises in free agency.

Lewis could be an intriguing option in the backfield for another team next season as he provides a versatile offensive weapon as both a runner and receiver out of the backfield. He is coming off his most productive campaign where he rushed for a career-high 896 yards and six touchdowns along with hauling in 32 catches for 214 receiving yards and three touchdowns while playing in all 16 regular season games for the first time in his career.

This has put him in line to receive a significant payday in free agency from the two-year, $2.6 million one that he just completed as he's one of the top-tier talents available at his position that is still in the prime of his career.

What will likely also factor into the equation is the opportunity to play a significant role in the running game as the clear-cut workhorse running back. This scenario could be offered by the 49ers, Jets, and Colts. Meanwhile, he would likely have to play behind Derrick Henry with the Titans after the team has parted ways with former Pro Bowler DeMarco Murray this past week.

Ultimately, it all looks like Lewis will have a plethora of options in front of him once the free agency gets underway in the next few days.
