After capturing the Super Bowl MVP award, Patrick Mahomes opens as the odds-on favorite to take home the NFL MVP award in 2020. Of course, it would be the second regular-season MVP award of his young career.
Just a season ago, Mahomes was crowned as the NFL's MVP with 5,097 yards, 50 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions. Similarly to Mahomes, Lamar Jackson was able to win the MVP trophy in just his second year in the NFL this season.
The Baltimore Ravens quarterback became the second unanimous MVP in NFL history on Saturday. There's no doubt that Jackson deserved the prestigious award after compiling a truly historic season.
However, the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook believes that Mahomes is the best quarterback in the NFL. Besides Mahomes and Jackson, most of the favorites to win the NFL's MVP award are quarterbacks. Mahomes is opening at 4-1 odds to win and Jackson is given 6-1 odds to repeat.
Behind the reigning MVP's, Russell Wilson (10-1), Deshaun Watson (12-1), Dak Prescott (16-1), and Carson Wentz (16-1) were all given decent odds to win. Surprisingly enough, Wilson has yet to win an NFL MVP award in his successful career.
On the other hand, Joe Burrow is on the opposite end of the spectrum with 100-1 odds to win MVP.
It may be early, but the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook is giving bettors an opportunity to bet on future items.
