With NFL free agency in full swing next week, there are some notable players that could be on the trade market. It appears Seattle Seahawks edge rusher Frank Clark and Houston Texans edge rusher Jadeveon Clowney are among them.

Clark and Clowney may prove to be too expensive for their teams to hold onto them. According to Fox NFL Insider Jay Glazer, they could also be moved this offseason:

Lost in all the talk of Antonio Brown trade talk is the fact that there’s been a lot of chatter among teams looking to trade for premium pass rusher such as Clowney, Frank Clark, Dee Ford.

The prospect of both Clark and Clowney getting traded this offseason is a bit far-fetched. They have each etched out integral roles in the respective defenses. Their teams will need to get plenty in return if they hope to fill such a void.

It is no secret that Clowney has struggled to live up to the hype of being a former No.1 overall pick. Although he has been a prolific pass-rusher at times, his career has been outshined by two fellow members of the same draft class in Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald and Chicago Bears defensive end Khalil Mack. While Donald and Mack have respectively become the highest-paid defensive players in the league, it is safe to say that the Texans are hesitant to pay Clowney that type of money.

Meanwhile, Clark proved to be Seattle's best pass-rusher in a defense that lost several key players last offseason. He finished the 2018 campaign with 41 tackles, 13 sacks, and an interception. Parting ways with him would be a bold move considering the Seahawks do not have much depth behind him.
