Larry Fitzgerald has always been a class act off of the field for the Arizona Cardinals, even during the coronavirus pandemic. While healthcare workers are on the front lines of combating the pandemic, Fitzgerald figured that he could provide meals for them.
On Wednesday, Fitzgerald decided to partner with Jeff and Mike Mastro, who own a few restaurants in the Arizona area. The idea was to provide healthcare workers with meals as a thank you for what they are doing.
As a matter of fact, Fitzgerald took time out of his day to deliver the meals himself. Fitzgerald, who's spent 16 seasons with the Cardinals, is a prominent figure in Arizona. Therefore, nearly everyone in the Arizona area would be able to recognize the 36-year-old wide receiver anywhere he goes.
It just so happens that he made a visit to the Hansen family with a luxurious meal. Within the Hansen family, Stacey Hansen works as an ICU nurse at Banner University Medical Center-Phoenix. Besides the Hansen family, Fitzgerald would deliver meals to five hospitals in Arizona.
Fitzgerald, just like the rest of us, has been spending his time in quarantine to watch television shows or movies on every video-streaming service. However, the veteran receiver said that he'd rather deliver meals than remain at home.
“All we have is time right now,” Fitzgerald said, via azcentral.com. “I couldn’t do the things I normally do in the off-season, so I thought this was a much better use of time than sitting at home.
Since entering the NFL in 2004, Fitzgerald has been the prime example of what a leader should look like. Even in the latter part of his career, Fitzgerald is proving that he's one of the most selfless players in the NFL.
