Now healing for a few weeks with a shoulder injury, Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston has had some time to look back at the brouhaha from last weekend.
For those unaware, Mike Evans would trounce a New Orleans Saints defender after Winston poked him in the back of his head with a finger. It was clear that Evans was only trying to protect his gunslinger, but it was Jameis Winston's antics that causes the issue in the first place.
Winston is now claiming he is sorry.
“I just want to apologize on behalf of my teammates and Mike Evans for the incident that happened in the Saints game,” Winston said. “That’s something I can’t do. In the heat of the moment, again, my competitive nature, obviously I can’t come onto the field and make any gesture towards an opponent, let alone touch him. So I can’t do that, so I apologize for that.”
For what it is worth, Winston wasn't even actively playing at the time of the incident. He was already on the bench dealing with his injured shoulder.
Furthermore, if Winston wants to apologize for anything, it should be for this debacle of a speech.

As noted before on this here fine website, that is probably the worst speech ever given during the entire history of human species having the ability to utter words. That grouping of words to barely form a series of sentences set back the Buccaneers, in my humble opinion.
For those who can't tell tone, I am joking.
