The Buffalo Bills ended a lot of streaks that were running against them when they knocked off the New England Patriots on Sunday. Many experts predicted this win for the Bills but the way they won it showed tremendous growth for this team.
Joe Marino, the host of the daily Locked On Bills Podcast, pointed out that the most impressive thing about this win was their ability to adapt and win in a different way.
Article Continues BelowMarino: The first thing I want to mention here is the Bills won this game and adapted to a different style of play that I really appreciate. If you remember the end of our Friday discussion, one of the last messages that I communicated during the week as we got ready for this game was that I was really nervous about the weather. We knew it was going to be extremely windy, cold, perhaps wet, and I didn’t like how the Bills matched up in those circumstances because the Bills are a pass-heavy offense that has struggled at times to stop the run on defense. The Patriots were this team that was good at running the football, good at stopping the run, and they didn’t have many dynamic playmakers when it comes to their wide receivers. They had a good offensive line and a serviceable trio of running backs. I just kind of felt like the elements for this game favored the Patriots. You think about the Bills’ script going into this game, it has been to pass the ball. Win from passing the ball. This is a situation where the Bills only attempted 18 passes in this game, ran the ball 38 times. So, my initial first thing I want to communicate about this game with things I like is that this team was able to show the ability to win a football game in a different way.
