Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton can use his legs to make plays, and it's what makes him such a special quarterback. Newton knows that his running ability is a gift but it can also be a curse at times and in the last preseason game it was a big curse.

In the Panthers' third preseason game against the New England Patriots, Newton scrambled and was upended. He flipped and landed on his neck.

It was a scary moment, and Newton momentarily left the game. He got lucky and didn't get a concussion and only ended up with a black eye. Even though it's just the preseason, Newton says he only knows how to play the game one way.

“I only know how to play this game one way, and a lot of times it becomes my curse,” Newton said via ESPN. “But in more ways it's my gift.”

Tight end Greg Olson wasn't surprised to see Newton take the chance, even though it's just a preseason game because he has seen it time and time again.

“We've seen that a long time around here,” Pro Bowl tight end Greg Olsen said. “That's not anything new to us. That's just how he plays. When he goes out to play preseason, regular season, it's all the same.

Norv Turner is the new offensive coordinator for the Panthers, and he would like to have Newton stay in the pocket a bit more this year, but with the special talent that Newton has with his legs, there is no question that he will still be scrambling some.
