The Cleveland Browns entered 2019 with Super Bowl hopes. They won't even end up with a winning season.

With their 38-24 loss to the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, the Browns fell to 6-8 on the year, guaranteeing they will not finish the season with a winning record.

Not only that, but it also made it so Cleveland will finish the decade without posting an above .500 mark in any individual season, which Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk points out. The last time the Browns posted a winning campaign was back in 2007, when they went 10-6.

Sunday's loss also all but eliminated Cleveland from playoff contention with just two weeks left to play.

It was the latest setback in what has been a 2019 campaign full of them for the Browns, as they fell behind 14-0 in the first half and never recovered.

Thanks to an offseason in which Cleveland added wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., running back Kareem Hunt and numerous pieces on the defensive side of the ball, many had the Browns pegged as Super Bowl contenders heading into this season.

However, Cleveland has not even resembled a legitimate contender at any point in 2019.

The Browns got off to a 2-6 start, including a four-game losing streak between Weeks 5 and 9 (they had a bye in Week 7). They then won three games in a row from Weeks 10 through 12, but by that point, it was already too late, and the fact that Cleveland has gone 1-2 since that three-game winning streak has pretty much sealed its fate.

From 2010 through 2019, the Browns own an abysmal record of 42-115-1, which is the worst overall mark in the NFL during that span.
