A whole lot of head-coaching dominoes have fallen in the NFL over the last week, but yet, the Cleveland Browns remain without a head coach.

After the Carolina Panthers and New York Giants completed their respective coaching searches on Tuesday morning, the Browns are now the only team in the league without a skipper, but Cleveland is hoping to finish things soon.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Browns are planning to hire a new head coach by Saturday and have interviews on tap with Philadelphia Eagles defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz, Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator Kevin Stefanski and New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels throughout the week.

The Browns have already conducted interviews with Eric Bieniemy, Greg Roman and Robert Saleh. Cleveland fired Freddie Kitchens from his post as head coach after just one season at the helm before also canning general manager John Dorsey.

Thanks to a busy offseason that included acquisitions like Odell Beckham Jr. and Kareem Hunt, as well as numerous additions on the defensive side of the ball, the Browns were pegged as Super Bowl contenders by many heading into 2019.

However, Cleveland was anything but that, winning just six games and missing the playoffs. Some Browns players pointed to a lack of leadership as a central issue in the club's lack of success this season, so Kitchens' dismissal was hardly surprising.

Cleveland has not made the playoffs since the 2002-03 campaign, representing the longest active postseason drought in the NFL. The Browns have posted just one winning season since then.
