When the Cleveland Browns traded for Odell Beckham Jr. this offseason, they instantly gave themselves one of the most dynamic wide receiver tandems in the NFL with Beckham and Jarvis Landry.

Beckham and Landry were teammates at LSU, so the two of them already know each other very well to begin with.

When asked how now being NFL teammates elevates their games, Landry had this to say:

“Man, to a whole other level,” Landry said, according to Matthew Florjancic of WKYC. “I think the competition level obviously, with the respect and the competition level that we have between each other, is gonna allow us to grow more, especially on the field.”

Landry specifically mentioned a catch Beckham made in practice at training camp, when he had a pass bounce off of his hands and helmet before ultimately securing the reception and falling to the ground:
“It’s real now because with those types of plays, with each play, other guys around, myself included, understand that the level of play just went up that much more and we’ve got to pick it up,” Landry said. “Around especially a guy as elite as he is, you will stick out in some kind of way if you’re not doing your part when you get your opportunities, and that’s kind of when the (stuff) got real.”
The Browns acquired Beckham from the New York Giants back in March, sending a first-round pick, a third-rounder and young safety Jabrill Peppers in return.
Cleveland went 7-8-1 this past year.
