Many have wondered why Odell Beckham Jr. has looked out of sorts in his first year with the Cleveland Browns and his apparent injury would explain some things. Among other issues, Beckham Jr. has been nursing a sports hernia injury this season per Ian Rapoport.

Since the beginning of the season, Beckham Jr. on Cleveland's injury report with a hip or groin issue. That is because a sports hernia injury is usually listed as a hip or groin ailment as it affects both areas.

The Pro-Bowl wide receiver originally suffered the injury in training camp and he began missing practices. The injury has been serious enough to trickle into the regular season and causes him to miss crucial practice time leading up to games.

As a result, he's been unable to get onto the same page as Baker Mayfield on certain plays. Despite his nagging injury, Beckham Jr. has hauled in 57 receptions for 805 yards and only two touchdowns.

While the big-play wide receiver is on pace to finish with a career-low in receptions, his 14.1 yards per reception would be his most since 2015. Even though he's been listed on the injury report every week, he's yet to miss a single game in 2019.

On Sundays, Beckham Jr. goes through treatment to get his body as close to 100 percent as possible. Of course, a sports hernia can exude excruciating pain and can be hard to handle throughout an entire season.

The gifted wide receiver recently made headlines when he spoke about his future with the Browns. Whether he is in Cleveland or elsewhere it is evident that Beckham Jr. will need to undergo surgery in the offseason to get himself ready for the 2020 season.
