Former Kansas City running back Kareem Hunt was cut by the Chiefs after a video showing him getting into a violent confrontation with a woman last February was released by TMZ. On Monday, Hunt will clear waivers if unclaimed, and initial reports from Adam Schefter indicated that no team would.

Per Schefter:

“I don’t think anyone claims him,” one general manager told ESPN.

Another GM told ESPN that there is “no chance” that Hunt gets claimed while a third GM said he “can’t imagine” a team claiming Hunt, who was released Friday by the Chiefs after video surfaced earlier in the day that showed him shoving and kicking a woman in February.

“No way, I don’t see it,” another NFL executive told ESPN.

However, Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com reports that the Browns wouldn't reveal whether or not they'll look to claim Hunt. Another source told Pro Football Talk that Cleveland's general manager John Dorsey doesn't want to tip his hand prematurely.

Dorsey drafted Hunt in 2017 while he was the G.M. of the Chiefs. Dorsey also drafted Chiefs wideout Tyreek Hill in 2016, who slipped into the fifth round after an arrest for assaulting his then-pregnant girlfriend while in college was made public, and Antonio Callaway — who was suspended at Florida after being accused of sexual assault — in this year's draft.

Cleveland drafted rookie running back Nick Chubb in the second round. Chubb has shown flashes of brilliance this season, including rushing for 176 yards and a touchdown against Atlanta in week 10.

Hunt is on the Commissioner's Exempt List and will not be eligible to play or attend games until he is removed, so claiming Hunt would likely be a move for 2019.
