The seemingly endless judicial teeter-totter between the NFL and Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott finally came to an end after the young star decided not appeal the rest of his six-game suspension. As a result, the Cowboys will be without Elliott until Week 16 when Dallas will face the Seattle Seahawks.
Oddly enough, it will come at a time of huge importance for the Cowboys.
Despite the bizarre sequence of events that ensued from the season-long back-and-forth between the NFL and the Cowboys star, veteran tight end Jason Witten is proud of how Ezekiel Elliott handled the situation, according to Kate Hairopoulos of the Dallas Morning News:

I respect his decision and his team’s decision. I know that he’s going to do everything in his power to get back and when his number gets called here in a few weeks, be in the best shape and mindset he can be to help us down the stretch. And hopefully we can hold up our end and can be in the position to be in the hunt when he gets back.
Witten's comments certainly hold some weight considering his background dealing with domestic abuse. Let the record show that Elliott was never arrested or charged for the alleged incident that occurred in July 2016.
Elliott's absence was extremely noticeable during their 27-7 loss to the Atlanta Falcons in which the backfield combined for just 65 yards on 15 carries.
Despite already serving one game of his suspension, “Zeke” still ranks third in the league in rushing yards and is tied for first in rushing touchdowns (7).The road does not get any easier with a crucial divisional matchup versus the 8-1 Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.
