The Dallas Cowboys have to move on without star running back Ezekiel Elliott. The Pro Bowler has five more games left on his suspension, and his absence has already taken a toll on the team's offense with the Cowboys scoring only one touchdown in an ugly loss against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 10.

While Elliott serves his suspension, the 22-year-old has decided to leave the country. The second-year back is said to be training while clearing his head while out of the country. Owner Jerry Jones was asked about Elliott being away from the team during the suspension, and he's apparently not concerned, via ESPN's Todd Archer.

“I think he's got a good plan, and I know he's going to be doing stuff,” Jones said after the Cowboys' 27-7 loss to the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. “He's going to get away, and he's doing some things that will help his career and his life, and so, no, I'm not as concerned about that.”

Dec. 18 will mark the return of Elliott following the matchup with the Oakland Raiders. The one-time All-Pro would be able to suit up for the last two regular-season games for the Cowboys when they take on the Seattle Seahawks and division rival Philadelphia Eagles.

By the time Elliott is eligible to return to the field, the Cowboys' playoff fate may be sealed. The team is currently sporting a 5-4 record while in second place in the NFC East behind the division-leading Eagles (8-1).

Anything can happen between now and the final stretch of the 2017 campaign, but if the performance against the Falcons is any indication, the Cowboys may be in for a rough road ahead.
