The Dallas Cowboys know that Ezekiel Elliott's suspension is unavoidable at this point. America's Team has gotten more out of Elliott than they thought was possible, but they may only have one more game with their star running back before he's forced out.

Owner Jerry Jones is very aware of Elliott's pending suspension and knows the costly loss it will be to the team when he's unable to suit up. Jones recently talked about Elliott's contributions and the fact he'll be missed once he starts serving his suspension, via ESPN's Todd Archer.

“I don’t believe we’ve ever been negligent or anything in saying what Zeke means to our team. It will hurt us when we don’t have Zeke, and so I don’t like to think about playing ballgames without Zeke,” owner and general manager Jerry Jones said. “On the other hand, we’ve got some good players there. But still, I don’t need to be reminded. We don’t need to be reminded. We have seen Zeke now throughout his entire career. He’s an integral part of our team and would be an asset to anybody playing football.”

Elliott may have shown his worth more than ever in the Week 7 win against the San Francisco 49ers. The Ohio State product rushed for 147 yards and two touchdowns on 26 carries. The Cowboys racked up 501 total yards as they proceeded to crush the 49ers, 40-10.

Without Elliott, the team will have to turn to Alfred Morris, Darren McFadden, and Rod Smith to shoulder the load. Unlike last season, the Cowboys have some strong competition in the NFC East division with the Philadelphia Eagles (5-1) leading the way and Washington Redskins (3-2) right behind them while the Cowboys sit in third place at 3-3.

In six games this season, Elliott has rushed for 540 yards and four touchdowns. He's also made an impact as a receiver with 18 receptions for 206 yards and two touchdowns.
