The Dallas Cowboys are no doubt one of the more popular North American sports teams while the NFC East franchise is certainly in the conversation for the single most popular NFL franchise as well. With that in mind, it should come as absolutely no surprise that Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott had quite the year in 2018 in terms of sales of jerseys, video games, and trading cards among NFL players.
Of course, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady came in first in such a race at $2.35 million with Prescott coming in second, thanks to his $2 million in sales.
Article Continues Below“Look at the power of the Cowboys brand globally,” said John Tatum, president of marketing firm Genesco Sports Enterprises, via The Athletic. “By every measure, by value, by TV ratings, and you know, the quarterback of the Cowboys is the No. 2 merchandise seller.”
Prescott and the Cowboys notably finished atop the NFC East last season, though Dallas once again failed to reach a Super Bowl. With the always dangerous Philadelphia Eagles finishing in second place in the divisional standing in 2018-19, the Cowboys won't have an easy road back to the playoffs come 2019-20 even with both the New York Giants and Washington Redskins primed to struggle mightily.
It is also worth noting that with the Cowboys regularly reaching the postseason, the aforementioned Eagles infamously won the franchise's first ever Super Bowl title just two seasons ago. The rival Giants have also won a pair of Super Bowl titles since the Cowboys last did so.
