A man injured in a 2017 crash involving Ezekiel Elliott is suing the Dallas Cowboys running back for $1 million, according to Dallas-Fort Worth's NBC 5.
Ronnie Hill was hit when Elliott “accidentally ran a red light” and hit Hill's car on the passenger side and his BMW was considered a total loss. Hill also claims that he suffered “serious life-threating injuries.”
Although Hill is suing Elliott in Texas individuals can't sue the insurance company, so this is just a way to get the insurance to pay out the claim. Elliott's attorney released a statement saying that Hill had to sue to “trigger the insurance company.”

Hill's attorney released a statement saying they don't think that Elliott is trying to impede the investigation in any way.
“Zeke Elliott, to his credit, admitted at the scene that he ran the red light,” Quentin Brogdon, Hill's attorney, told NBC 5. “Zeke Elliott, as far as we know, has not impeded in any way the agreed resolution or settlement of these legal claims.
“Almost two years have now passed and there’s been more than enough time and more than enough information provided for this claim to get resolved.”
This sounds like a serious issue, but it really shouldn't have much effect on Elliott as it's going to go through the insurance company. It should be business, as usual, this year for Elliott on the field and this shouldn't be a distraction.
