Week 5 of the 2018 NFL season features an intrastate showdown between the Dallas Cowboys and Houston Texans. It seems defensive end J.J. Watt is paying close attention to quarterback Dak Prescott and running back Ezekiel Elliott.

The Cowboys have largely struggled to find a rhythm on offense. However, according to Adam Wexler of KPRC2, Watt is still concerned with the “backfield duo” of Prescott and Elliott:

It goes without saying that the offense has hardly been what Cowboys fans hoped for coming into the season. However, there is still plenty of truth to Watt's comments.

Despite all of their troubles in the passing game, Dallas has made up for it in the run game. They currently rank fourth in the league in rushing yards per game (145.2). Of course, their ground game is headed by both Prescott and Elliott.

The Cowboys' workhorse has done a stellar job of carrying the offense this year. Not only has Elliott been the focal point of their run-heavy approach, but he has been a viable asset in the passing game as well. He currently paces the NFL with 426 rushing yards.

Meanwhile, Prescott has also managed to alleviate his passing woes by running the ball effectively. He currently ranks eighth among quarterbacks with 87 yards on 17 carries.

Despite their ability to chew up yardage, the Cowboys still need to find a way to score through the air if they are going to compete this season. That's especially true this week, as Watt and the Texans have been vulnerable against the pass. Despite Watt's own success, Houston ranks 27th in passing yards allowed.
