It's clear this year that the Dallas Cowboys don't have a number one wide receiver, but according to Jerry Jones not only do they not have one this year, but it's also something they haven't had for several years.
In Jones' regular interview with KRLD-FM [105.3 The Fan] he said that he doesn't feel it's something they have had for a while and only a few teams actually have a true number one.

In my mind, every team doesn't have a true No. 1 receiver. When you put it in that class, those guys that just absolutely change the ball game with where they are. And that hasn't been our case for several years here that we've had a true No. 1, not a true No. 1.”
Jones was asked if that means he doesn't think Dez Bryant was a number one receiver and he reiterated that what the Cowboys faced in DeAndre Hopkins on Sunday night was a true number one receiver. Bryant's last 1,000 yard receiving season was in 2014 and his production was declining up until the time they released him last offseason.
This season the Cowboys don't have a number one receiver and they might not even have a number two guy either. No one on the team has 200 yards receiving and there isn't a guy they can go to when they need a big catch down the stretch of games.
