The Dallas Cowboys and running back Ezekiel Elliott are engaged in a contract standoff, and no resolution appears to be in sight. Not only is Elliott currently holding out of training camp, but he is not even in the country, as he want to Cabo.
However, former NFL safety Ryan Clark feels that eventually, Elliott will cave:

While Clark is 100 percent right in everything he says, stating that Elliott does, in fact, have two years remaining on his deal and that the Cowboys have other priorities (like Dak Prescott), that doesn't necessarily mean Elliott will cave.
I'm sure Elliott understands Dallas' situation, but he also wants to get paid.
The 24-year-old is set to make $3.9 million in 2019 and $9.1 million in 2020, but Elliott is obviously worried about his future beyond 2020, especially considering that he has led the NFL in carries in two of his first three NFL seasons.

The St. Louis native, who played his collegiate football at Ohio State, was originally selected by the Cowboys with the fourth overall pick of the 2016 NFL Draft.
He racked up a league-leading 1,631 yards during his rookie year, adding 15 touchdowns and making the Pro Bowl while also earning a First-Team All-Pro selection.
Elliott was then limited to 10 games in 2017 due to a six-game suspension.
